41 Coolest Soccer Jerseys of All Time

This is a list of the COOLEST jerseys of all time in soccer.

Soccer jerseys have gone through a renaissance in recent years. All thanks to the โ€œBlokecoreโ€ trend.

Youโ€™ll see a lot of fashionistas pairing their soccer jerseys with daily outfits these days.

Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™ve made this list of the coolest soccer jerseys of all time.

So, if you want to get in on the soccer jersey trend, youโ€™re in the right place!

Criteria for the list

So, how did we come up with the entries on this list?

For starters, the jersey needs to have an iconic design (of course!).

Apart from that, it also gets points for:

  • historical significance,
  • popularity among fans,
  • longevity, and
  • nostalgia factor.

Weโ€™ve also set some ground rules such as a team only being able to get a maximum of two places on the list. They may have 10s of cool kits in their locker, but Iโ€™ll select the best two.

Also, this list is not ordered. So thereโ€™s no first place or last place.

But you will get an idea of my favorites from reading the descriptions under each jersey.

Finally, this is a mixture of personal and popular opinions.

Iโ€™m a big fan of the โ€™90s jerseys. So youโ€™ll see a lot of them and Kappa kits on here.

Without further ado, letโ€™s take a look at the coolest soccer jerseys ever made.

Coolest Soccer Jerseys of All Time

1. Venezia FC Third Kit (2023/24)

Venezia is an Italian club that plays in the second division of Italy (Serie B).

In recent years, Venezia has made a name for itself off the pitch with its stylish and cool jerseys.

It was even named soccerโ€™s most fashionable club by Highsnobiety in 2022.

And they didnโ€™t disappoint with their kit reveals in 2023.

Veneziaโ€™s home and away kits are amazing, but itโ€™s their third kit for the 2023/24 season that takes the cake.

Made by Kappa, the kit is inspired by traditional Venetian gondoliers. It also takes notes from the recent Regata Storica with its blue and white horizontal stripes.

So, if youโ€™re in the market for a cool and fashionable jersey, we recommend going for the Venezia FC third kit.

2. Athens Kallithea FC Home Shirt (2023/24)

Athens Kallithea FC, or AKFC, is another club that has made waves with its stylish kits in recent times.

They got so popular last year that they had to open early access to their 23/24 collection via mailing list.

Ted Philipakos, the club president and creative director of AKFC, is the mind behind these gorgeous kits.

Like Venezia FC, AKFC has partnered with Kappa to create this amazing shirt.

The navy blue home jersey reminds me of the 90s soccer kits. With its elbow-length sleeves and button-up collars. The navy blue, red, and gold accent color combination also oozes class.

The Greek sponsor ฮ•ฮœฮฃฮค on the chest, is a cherry on the cake.

ฮ•ฮœฮฃฮค is the logo of the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens. It is the ideal marriage of a soccer club and an arts and culture institution.

Itโ€™s hard to choose one, but my favorite jersey of the 2023/24 season has got to be this home shirt of Athens Kallithea FC.

3. Borussia Dortmund Home Jersey (1995/96)

You wonโ€™t find a lot of Nike shirts in our list of the coolest soccer jerseys, but this Dortmund kit had to be there.

A year where Borussia Dortmund retained their Bundesliga title. And their kit was one to match their performances.

Some other Dortmund kits are also worthy, such as the 1996/97 Champions League shirt. But I prefer the 1995/96 one.

The jersey had Dortmundโ€™s classic yellow with a twist.

It was on the neon yellow side. Pair that with long black sleeves and a classy โ€˜Die Continentaleโ€™ sponsor, this kit was a banger!

2023 has been a year for small clubs when it comes to jersey design.

FC Rocquancourt is an amateur soccer club playing in the French Departmental 4 near Caen.

And it is making waves on social media due to its stylish jersey and even more stylish photoshoot.

The idea was to promote amateur football through a purely aesthetic approach. We benefited from a first tweet from Foot Pack from the day we published our photos. From there, there was a pretty incredible snowball effect. The tweets dedicated to us have accumulated more than two million views.

Axel Chavriรจre speaking toย Actu.fr

The success of this jersey from a small-town club goes to show that you donโ€™t need money to throw at a campaign.

It will get the attention if itโ€™s good and worthy of attention.

So if youโ€™re in the market for a more โ€œout-thereโ€ soccer jersey, the FC Rocquancourt Home Shirt of the 2023/24 season will suit your needs.

5. Over The Pitch x South Korea Jersey (1994 World Cup)

This rethinking of the South Korea 1994 Jersey by Over The Pitch is coolness personified.

Iโ€™d love to have this shirt in my collection, but unfortunately, itโ€™s only available to ship in South Korea.

This jersey has elements of the German 1994 shirt along with the base of the South Korea jersey.

It also has the motif of the 12th Taegeuk Warriors (The Red Devils), which you can see throughout the shirt.

I have to plan a trip to Korea soon if only to get a hand on this jersey. This is simply one of the coolest soccer jerseys ever!

6. Newcastle United Home Kit (1996/97)

The 1996/97 season is infamous for the Kevin Keegan rant against Manchester United.

But the famous Newcastle United kit is also remembered fondly.

Another one of the classic 90s kits in our list of the coolest soccer jerseys, this jersey is one of the greatest soccer jerseys in the Premier League era.

The Adidas kit represents Geordie culture at its peak. The Newkie Brown Ale sponsorship in the middle of the jersey epitomizes the culture.

Now with all the new Saudi money coming in, I hope that theyโ€™re able to recreate a jersey even close to this one.

7. France Away Kit (2011/12)

So many France kits to choose from, but weโ€™ve got to limit ourselves.

For our first France kit, we went with the 2011/12 away jersey.

Although not a great year for the French national team, this jersey proved to be a head-turner.

The design was inspired by the โ€˜mariniรจreโ€˜. A symbol of the free-spirited French culture of the early 20th century.

Embed from Getty Images

This is one of those jerseys that can be worn in a variety of settings, not just soccer fields.

You can wear it on a walk with your dog or a night out with friends. Itโ€™ll suit every occasion.

8. France Home (1998 World Cup)

France Home (1998 World Cup)
  • Save

Our second French entry in the list goes to the World Cup winning jersey of 1998.

Just looking at it gives flashbacks of a young Zidane going past the opponents.

But donโ€™t think that weโ€™ve only included the jersey for its iconic value. The design is iconic as well.

Embed from Getty Images

The dark blue color always looks classy on a shirt. Then pair it with one red and three white stripes, and youโ€™ve got yourself a shirt that stands out.

It represented the colors of France in a truly cool fashion.

9. Germany Home Kit (1994 World Cup)

From France, we travel to Germany next in our quest to find the coolest soccer jerseys of all time.

Some might call this one tacky, but I prefer to call it iconic.

In true 1990s fashion, this German jersey was flamboyant, unique, and had a coolness factor to it.

It was also the inspiration for the South Korean jersey we saw above.

Embed from Getty Images

I love everything about it, from the Adidas logo and the tricolored waves to the small details on the collar.

You NEED this German soccer jersey in your collection.

10. Bayern Munich Home Kit (1995/97)

Four-lettered sponsors on jerseys make them instant classics, no?

The OPEL era produced some great jerseys for Bayern Munich. Plus the lightning logo looked looked for soccer.

Amongst the hundreds of jerseys in Bayern history, I settled on the 1995/97 home jersey as their coolest one.

Although, not a great era on the pitch for Bayern (because of Dortmund), it was a great one for their jersey design.

Made by Adidas, the three stripes on the sleeves make this kit special. Then the minimal Adidas logo and the collar also add its iconic look.

Not much else to say here, but I know youโ€™ll look cool wearing one of these.

11. USSR Away Kit (1982)

Okay, this might be the most controversial entry on this list. After all, itโ€™s a Soviet Union jersey.

But looking past the country it belonged to, the shirt is classy.

The Soviet Union wore this away kit in the 1982 World Cup.

Their performance in the tournament wasnโ€™t anything special as they went out of the second group stage. But their away jersey turned some heads.

The Soviet flag doesnโ€™t do much for the jersey, but apart from it, everything is perfect.

Thereโ€™s a mix of thin and thick stripes, along with the classic Adidas logo. This combination gives the shirt a casual yet sophisticated look.

12. BeลŸiktaลŸ Home Kit (1998/99)

BeลŸiktaลŸ Home Kit (1998/99)
  • Save

Now, we turn our head to the Turkish Sรผper Lig club, BeลŸiktaลŸ.

Itโ€™s hard to go wrong with a black and white shirt and BeลŸiktaลŸ proved it with their away jersey in the 1998/99 season.

And itโ€™s not even a simple black and white stripes kit.

The sponsor โ€œBEKOโ€ on a white background makes a cross-design through the middle of the shirt.

And you already know that I have a soft spot for the 90s long sleeves and oversized look.

One of the rarest retro kits, this BeลŸiktaลŸ away shirt has become a cult favorite among soccer fans.

13. Brazil Home Kit (1994 World Cup)

You cannot have a soccer list without mentioning Brazil.

The most successful soccer nation has an iconic yellow jersey as well.

And my pick amongst the bunch was in the 1994 World Cup.

Brazil ditched its plain yellow for a shirt full of extravagant patterns. The Umbro kit had a lot going on in the background.

I mean, they had not one, not two, but three huge Brazil crests printed across the chest.

Embed from Getty Images

But going for something so risky, somehow worked. And to top it all, Brazil went on and won the World Cup again.

14. AC Milan Special Centenary Edition (2000/01)

AC Milan dialed it back to celebrate their 100 years as a football club in 2000.

The vintage look had the thinner and black pinstripes. It also had the original crest featuring the cross of Saint Ambrose, patron saint of the city of Milano.

Unfortunately, that didnโ€™t bring on-field success as Milan ended the season in third place. But Iโ€™m glad we got this beautiful jersey out of it.

The jersey also has formal buttoned collars. So you can wear the jersey on different occasions. Not just on the soccer field.

This Adidas production is one of the coolest soccer jerseys Iโ€™ve seen and earns its rightful place in this list.

15. AC Milan Home Kit (2006/07)

Another classic by AC Milan.

Adidas and AC Milan seem to be a match made in heaven with the beautiful kits theyโ€™ve been serving us over the years.

The 2006/07 was an iconic year for Milan as they beat Liverpool to win the Champions League.

Kaka also arrived on the scene this season by winning the Ballon dโ€™Or. So plus points for that.

Embed from Getty Images

But more than that, this jersey was a beauty.

The white sponsor and golden accents on the sides looked gorgeous with the black and red stripes. Add to that the collars and youโ€™ve got a timeless classic.

It came in both full sleeves and short sleeves, but I prefer the full-sleeve variation.

16. Parma Home Kit (1998/99)

Staying in Italy, we have the Parma 1998/99 Home Jersey next in our list of the coolest soccer jerseys.

Backed by the Parmalat dairy company, Parma had built a super team by the 1998/99 season.

Some of the most iconic soccer stars wore this jersey. Stars like:

And they delivered as well. Parma finished that season with a UEFA Cup and Coppa Italia double.

But it wasnโ€™t just the team that was doing wonders.

Their jersey was also an iconic one, which people still remember fondly to this day.

It was also the first season that Parma moved from black and white to blue and yellow hoops.

The best decision they ever made, if you ask me.

The 1994/95 AS Roma shirt had everything. Perfect color combination, lace-up neck, Asics on the shoulder, and a beautiful sponsor to complement it all.

It was a good season for Roma. The squad had a mix of experience and youth and was starting to take shape under Carlo Mazzone.

A certain youngster named Francesco Totti also came through the ranks that year.

Weโ€™re staying in Rome for our next entry.

The collaboration between Roma and Diadora produced some duds. But this kit was an exception.

The 1998/99 Roma jersey produced by Diadora had everything youโ€™d expect from a late 90s kit.

The classy collar, a big yet complementary sponsor, and amazing colors.

Embed from Getty Images

Also, this shirt features both of AS Romaโ€™s club crests. The original crest, with a wolf and two babies, is on the front.

But can you spot the alternative crest?

The jersey has a sleeve tape, but instead of Diadora, it has the Lupetto running down the sleeves.

Which Roma kit do you prefer? Let us know in the comments.

19. Italy Home Kit (1994 World Cup)

Italy Home Kit (1994 World Cup)

If the kits in the 1994 World Cup are anything to go by, then I cannot wait to see whatโ€™s in store for the 2024 World Cup.

Another banger jersey coming out of the tournament was the Italian Home Kit.

If you loved Brazilโ€™s three crests on their shirt, wait till you hear what Diadora did with the Italian shirt.

They liked Italyโ€™s crest so much that they printed it across the whole top.

I canโ€™t blame them though, the crest was kind of sick.

But thatโ€™s not all that was good about the jersey.

It also had the perfect shade of blue, futuristic lettering, and white and red triangles on the collar.

Embed from Getty Images

Sadly, fans remember this jersey for the heart-breaking moment at the tournament. Roberto Baggio missed the decisive penalty to hand the trophy to Brazil.

20. Arsenal Home Kit (2005/06)

One of the easiest picks in our list of the coolest soccer jerseys was the Arsenal 2005/06 Redcurrant kit.

This kit diverted from the clubโ€™s primary colors in favor of the original color from the early 1900s.

The colors paid tribute to their ground Highbury, in which Arsenal would be playing for the last time.

Embed from Getty Images

It was a risky choice made by Arsenal and Nike, but it paid off here. With the gold lining and a centralized crest, this jersey was a combination of class and coolness.

It wasnโ€™t a bad year on the pitch either as Arsenal made their first-ever appearance in a Champions League final.

21. Arsenal Away Kit (1991-92)

Another Arsenal entry in our list is the 1991-92 season away kit.

Itโ€™s one of those kits that has grown with soccer fans over time.

When Adidas first came out with this kit, it was unlike anything mainstream soccer had ever seen.

Even so, this โ€˜Bruised Bananaโ€™ kit (as itโ€™s come to be known) was something special.

Embed from Getty Images

โ€œYouโ€™re thinking itโ€™s going to be something normal and all of a sudden, Adidas came out with this. We thought when it first came out people are going to laugh at us in this. I look back now and I look at the pictures of when we were playing in this kit; itโ€™s brilliant and the pictures are fantastic.โ€

Ian Wright on his YouTube channel

The kit embodies the risks that soccer teams were willing to take in the 1990s.

A culture of flamboyance that was taking over England and it was on full display here.

22. Manchester City Home Kit (1997/99)

The โ€™90s wasnโ€™t the best time for Manchester City by any means. But they were killing it with their jerseys.

City partnered with Kappa to produce this cool jersey for the Sky Blues.

You already know by now that Iโ€™m a big fan of Kappa and 90s jerseys.

And honestly, can you blame me for it?

A regular feature of the 90s, this jersey features sleeve tapes with the Kappa logo on it. Then the slightly darker blue makes the white Brother logo pop out.

Also, the mix between a clean body and complex sleeves moves it from the tacky region into the cool one.

23. Nagoya Grampus Eight Home Kit (1993)

This kit from the Japanese side Nagoya Grampus might not be everyoneโ€™s cup of tea, but I love it.

Mizuno got a reputation in the 90s for producing some of the most innovative jerseys for the J-League.

Their influence can be seen to this day in the newer J-League jerseys.

Nagoya is famous for being one of the founding members of the J-League.

But did you know that Arsรจne Wenger managed Nagoya Grampus before moving to Arsenal?

Gary Lineker, the famous English striker, has also donned this beautiful jersey.

24. Jef United Home Kit (1993)

  • Save

Another classic kit from the Japanese League. This Jef United jersey is considered to be one of the most memorable kits of the 90s.

Jef United currently plays in the second division of the J-League, but it has a long and proud history as a founding member of the league.

The bright yellow color of the shirt contrasts perfectly with the sky-blue Sega logo.

And we canโ€™t forget the Sonic caricature on the jersey either.

Videogame sponsors on soccer jerseys were a common thing back in the day.

Amazingly most of these ventures created iconic and cool kits (as weโ€™ll see in the next entry).

25. Fiorentina Home Kit (1998/99)

  • Save

Talk about a match made in heaven. The 1998/99 Fiorentina jersey found the most perfect pairing between a club and its sponsor.

It would be a disservice to the shirt if I said itโ€™s memorable only due to the Nintendo sponsor.

But the perfect color symmetry of the logo with the clubโ€™s crest also made it iconic.

Embed from Getty Images

This kit has become one of the most iconic of the modern Italian soccer era. It played a major role in converging the video game and soccer crowd with each other.

Before moving on, I also want to give a shout-out to Fiorentinaโ€™s 1993/94 7Up kit.

That jersey also managed to get a perfect match between the club crest and the 7Up logo.

A thing that seems so hard to pull off for other other clubs, was effortless for Fiorentina.

The color green, and a huge sponsor that covers half of the shirt; nothing about this jersey should work.

But thereโ€™s just something about this Saint-Etienne kit from 1980 that oozes coolness.

Back then, Saint-Etienne used to rule the French game.

There was no PSG and all the big French players wanted to play for Les Vertes.

Their success hasnโ€™t stood the test of time, but this jersey surely has.

27. Mexico Home Kit (1998 World Cup)

Diving back into the extravagant kits, this 1998 Mexico shirt can be a little too out there for some.

But Mexico could care less.

They wanted to show off their Aztec culture and they did so proudly on the world stage. The shirt had a depiction of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl on the front.

โ€œAba Sport had always designed bold, risky as well as sometimes controversial shirts. This particular shirt was very symbolic for the Mexicans, reflecting their pre-Hispanic roots, in this case, the sun stone. The shirt celebrates it, in its design. So itโ€™s not surprising itโ€™s so popular.โ€

Jorge Lankenau, sports director at Aba

While Mexico didnโ€™t reach far in the tournament, theyโ€™re remembered for having the coolest jersey in the 1998 World Cup.

ABA produced a jersey that will be difficult to replicate. It has become the golden standard by which all El Tri jerseys are judged.

28. Nigeria Home Kit (2018 World Cup)

The Nigerian kit for the 2018 World Cup is an important part of soccer jersey history.

After over a decade of playing it safe, manufacturers realized that itโ€™s fine to take risks on jersey designs. The success of this kit was the turning point.

It brought a renaissance to the dull kits we were being served. Since then weโ€™ve had some creative jerseys come out.

People who got their hands on the jersey were the lucky ones, as it sold out within minutes of launching in Nike stores.

Five years later, itโ€™s still difficult to buy one.

Embed from Getty Images

Itโ€™s one of the coolest soccer jerseys of all time, with probably the biggest impact any kit has ever made.

29. Real Betis Home Kit (1995/97)

Donโ€™t worry! I havenโ€™t forgotten about the Spanish teams.

Real Betisโ€™ 1995/97 kit is our first Spanish entry in the coolest soccer jerseys of all time, but not the last.

This jersey was brought back to public eyes by the model cum soccer player, Hector Bellerin.

He wore the jersey on his social media after Real Betis announced his signing from Arsenal.

Bellerin also wore the jersey with fellow teammates Aitor Garcia and Borja Iglesias after their win in the Copa del Rey final.

The 1995/97 jersey was produced by Kappa, a long-time partner of Real Betis.

30. Barcelona Home and Away (1996/97)

I couldnโ€™t choose just one from the Cataloniansโ€™ 1996/97 kit. So I had to go with both their home and away kit for that season.

It was that good!

Who produced it, you ask? Well, who else but Kappa?

Embed from Getty Images

The away jersey had teal oblongs in front of the traditional Blaugrana red and blue.

It also had the classic Kappa logo running down the sleeves.

Embed from Getty Images

The home jersey was not lacking either.

It had the classic Kappa design along with the red and blue blocks of Barcelona.

What makes this jersey even more iconic is the fact that Ronaldo played at Barcelona wearing it. He also won his first FIFA World Player of the Year that year.

An iconic kit for an iconic season.

31. Real Madrid Home Kit (1996/97)

Although the all-white jersey of Los Blancos is iconic, their 1996/97 kit was an easy pick for the coolest one.

Kelme, a tiny Spanish cycling apparel company, produced these kits for Madrid. The thing that stands out in this jersey is Kelmeโ€™s iconic little paw print down the sleeves.

It set the jersey apart from other Spanish jerseys as well as from other Real Madrid jerseys.

Embed from Getty Images

Some of the names that wore this jersey were not bad either. Legends like Raul, Clarence Seedorf, and Roberto Carlos donned the shirt.

32. Netherlands Home Jersey (1988)

  • Save

I had a tough time choosing between the 1988 and the 1976 Netherlands kit.

But the 1988 jersey edged it out in coolness due to a more daring and innovative design.

The Netherlands won their first and only major title in this shirt (1988 European Championship).

Although they wore it for only 5 games, it was enough time to etch its name in the coolest soccer jerseys folklore.

Embed from Getty Images

A lot of things worked for it.

You can look at the perfectly shaded orange chevrons, the Adidas logo, or that iconic Dutch lion badge. They all work in perfect harmony to bring out the best in the jersey.

33. England Home Kit (1998 World Cup)

  • Save
Buy the England 1998 World Cup Jersey

No matter how disappointing Englandโ€™s performances are in tournaments, their jerseys rarely disappoint.

There were a handful of England jerseys I couldโ€™ve chosen from. But the 1998 World Cup jersey was the coolest among the lot.

Why? Because it was so simple yet so colorful.

It had navy and red sections along the sides, an oversized collar, and a centralized crest and number.

Pair that with the white base and youโ€™ve got yourself a classic.

Embed from Getty Images

The 1998 World Cup was also a memorable one for English fans because of mixed reasons.

On the bright side, a young Michael Owen was announcing himself to the world. Along a star-studded line-up, England were one of the favorites to win it.

On the darker side was that Beckham moment against Argentina where he lashed out at Diego Simeone and got sent off. England lost that match and crashed out of the tournament.

34. Paris Saint Germain Home Kit (1995/96)

  • Save

Yes, the recent Jordan and PSG collaboration made waves, and rightly so.

But it still doesnโ€™t match up to the classic 1995/96 shirt. You can call it my personal bias for the โ€™90s.

PSG was the first soccer team to make OPEL look cool on a jersey, long before Bayern and AC Milan entered the game.

The sponsorship went perfectly with PSGโ€™s red and blue design to make it a jersey fit for ages.

Embed from Getty Images

The team also found success on the pitch, winning the Cup Winnerโ€™s Cup and finishing second in the league.

The 1996/97 PSG jersey was much like the 1995/96 jersey, with some minor changes.

The 1995/96 jersey couldโ€™ve been on this list as well. But I gave the spot to the 1995/96 shirt on account of being more iconic.

35. Japan Home Kit (1996/98)

How do you do justice to a cool nickname like โ€˜The Blue Samuraiโ€™?

Simple.

You make one of the coolest soccer jerseys to go along with it.

I mean, the sleeves had flames on them. How much cooler can it get?

Add to that, the bagginess of 90s jerseys, flames imprinted all over the shirt, and a collar. And youโ€™ve got yourself an instant classic.

The kit was originally designed by Asics in 1996.

But Adidas became the kit sponsor before the start of the 1998 World Cup and kept the same design.

36. Verdy Kawasaki Home Kit (1993/94)

Another J-League entry and another kit designed by Mizuno.

The Verdy Kawasaki 1993 jersey is sure to turn some heads.

Verdy Kawasaki wore this kit for the inaugural season of J-League and would go on to win the first two titles.

They also won the J.League Cup, Super Cup, and Sanwa Bank Cup while wearing this kit.

The jersey had a design no one had ever seen before.

The club crest is big and stands out on a green(ish) backdrop.

And the design could be of a green sunrise or some kind of code that inspired The Matrix.

No one knows for sure.

One thing I do know is that this Verdy Kawasaki jersey is worthy of being called one of the coolest soccer jerseys ever.

37. Club Amรฉrica Home Kit (1994/95)

The Club Amรฉrica jersey was similar to Germanyโ€™s 1994 jersey. But it still had enough of a difference to stand out on its own.

It used the Adidas diamond template to good effect.

The jersey also has a mixture of contrasting colors to make everything pop.

The bright yellow color of the jersey makes you feel the warmth and festivity.

Then, the Coca-Cola sponsorship feels like it was made for a soccer jersey.

And to top it all off, thereโ€™s the beautiful central badge at the heart of the design.

Over time, this jersey has become one of the most recognizable jerseys in the history of the game.

38. LA Galaxy Home Kit (1997/98)

Thereโ€™s something about this Los Angeles Galaxy jersey that feels so endearing.

Maybe itโ€™s the big Galaxy written across the chest, in a style similar to Space Jam.

Or maybe itโ€™s the color combination of teal and black with the big stripes.

Whatever it is, it works.

The teal and black colors of the jersey were introduced in 1996.

But their use was perfected in the following season with the introduction of thick stripes.

Embed from Getty Images

One thing that worked against it was the template design Nike was using all across the MLS.

Every team had a similar stripe design, but yet, this jersey managed to stand out.

39. Denmark Home Kit (1986 World Cup)

Well, well, well. Here we are with the Denmark 1986 jersey.

What can I say about this jersey thatโ€™s not already been said?

Itโ€™s often dubbed as the greatest soccer jersey ever made. Period.

And we have Hummel to thank for it. They designed something that is both minimalistic and dazzling at the same time.

A half-and-half blend of light pinstripes and pure red creates the image of two colliding worlds coming together.

Embed from Getty Images

But the jersey wasnโ€™t always loved as it is today.

It was initially met with anger from the media, who dubbed it the โ€˜Carnival Suitโ€™.

Plus, the 80s television sets didnโ€™t do it any justice.

Despite that, the Denmark team and the stadium-going fans were fully behind the jersey.

There have been many attempts to replicate the template again by the likes of Aston Villa, Southampton, and Sporting Lisbon.

But no one has been able to come close to achieving what the Danes did. And that makes this jersey even cooler.

40. Boca Juniors Home Kit (1981/82)

Boca Juniors blessed us with the coolest soccer jersey to come out of Argentina back in 1981.

The magnificent blue and yellow of Boca Juniors is recognizable all around the globe.

This is partly due to the excellent design of the jersey, and partly due to the legendary season that Diego Maradona spent at the club.

Itโ€™s said that the club got its blue and yellow from the Swedish flag flying on a ship in the Buenos Aires port of La Boca.

Whether thatโ€™s true or not, Boca Juniors has certainly outdone the Swedes in the use of blue and yellow.

Additionally, what makes the jersey special is how simple its design is.

Thereโ€™s the classic Adidas logo, a thick yellow band, and four stars bearing the initials of the club.

Simple. Effective. Cool.

This entry in the list is a personal one.

As a Manchester United fan, I could not have my favorite United jersey miss out.

And the 1994/96 jersey is the perfect entry to put in here.

I mean, what defines coolness in soccer better than Eric Cantona?

The large flick-able collar was perfect for the Frenchman to show his signature style on the pitch.

The jersey also had a large crest, showing off the clubโ€™s identity proudly.

But thatโ€™s not all.

The 1994/96 jersey made by Umbro also had a faint Old Trafford silhouette across the shirt.

Yes, you heard that right.

The shirt brought The Theater of Dreams to life with an overlaid graphic across the front and back.

It couldโ€™ve come across as tacky, but it works.

I selected these 41 jerseys from a bigger list of 120 jerseys, a lot of which couldโ€™ve easily featured on this list.

It contained the likes of the Real Madrid centenary jersey, Arsenalโ€™s Sega kit, and the Ajax X Bob Marley kit.

Most of them missed out by a margin due to not fulfilling every criterion.

Iโ€™d also like to hear what you have to sayโ€ฆ
